Brockton Hospital School of Nursing

The Brockton Hospital School of Nursing or BHSN is a private and non-profit institution for higher nursing education founded in 1897 in Brockton Hospital, Brockton, Massachusetts. It is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. More than 2000 nursing students have graduated from the school.

The Brockton Hospital School of Nursing has established a partnership with Fisher College to offer a two-year associate nursing program to equip students for the National Council Licensure Examination for registered nurses. In this program, students are able to earn a nursing degree and an associate degree simultaneously. Graduates receive a Diploma in Nursing from the Brockton Hospital School of Nursing as well as an Associate Degree in Science from Fisher College.

Students who are able to attend day studies can opt for the two-year program. The school also offers a four-year program with classes during the evening or weekends. The Brockton Hospital School of Nursing Program is open not only to high school graduates but also to adults such as licensed practical nurses and career shifters. The Brockton Hospital School of Nursing currently has about 300 students enrolled in its program, who are mainly women. The school employs 18 faculty members, all qualified degree holders.

The tuition for the undergraduate program is around $10,000.00. For eligible students, The Brockton Hospital School of Nursing offers assistance in securing educational funding through scholarships, grants and loans. The school has an agreement with the US Department of Education to provide federal student loans to qualified students.

The Brockton Hospital School of Nursing has helped over fifty percent of its student population to receive financial aid. The Brockton Hospital also grants scholarships to its employees who wish to enroll in the nursing school program. Besides financial assistance, the school also offers its students and graduates other services such as career counseling and job placement.

Some of the information and documents required to enter the Brockton Hospital School of Nursing are your high school grade point average and school transcript of records. You may also need to take a standard admissions test as well as other applicable qualification tests such as the Test of English as a Foreign Language or TOEFL for applicants from non-native English speaking countries.
